Beau Pre hosting Gulf States

Beau Pre Country Club is hosting the Gulf States Michelob MPGA Chapter Championship Monday and Tuesday.
More than 40 teams, consisting of a golf pro and three amateurs, will be competing.
The tournament features the top Senior golf professionals in Mississippi and Louisiana. It is part of the Michelob series of tournaments thoughout the year with a $9,600 prize package.
Beau Pre Golf Pro Mark Powell will be teeing off at 10 a.m. with playing partner Lane Feltus.
Natchez native Blane Merritt will be teeing off at 10:32 a.m. Merritt supervises the course at Mississippi State.
Marvin Gray of Duncan Park and partner Jim Hargon will tee off at 11:12 a.m.
Beau Pre will also be holding a Labor Day Scramble Sept. 6 beginning at 8 a.m. Entry fee is $25 and includes cart, range, prizes and breakfast.
Interested players need to sign up early for tee times.
