Effie Beatrice Worthey Holloway

April 14, 1916 – Aug. 21, 1999

FERRIDAY, La. – Services for Effie Beatrice Worthey Holloway, 83, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, Aug. 21, 1999, in Natchez, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday with Rev. Bobby Cruse officiating.

Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 9 .m. Sunday at Young’s Funeral Home.

Mrs. Holloway was born April 14, 1916, in Franklin County, to S. Willie and Fannie Matthews Holloway.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Holloway was preceeded in death by her husband, Ben &uot;Rip&uot; Holloway; her parents; seven brothers; and one sister.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Lonnie McDonald of Ferriday; a grandson, Dale McDonald of Ferriday; a granddaughter and her husband, Ann and Robert Yakey of Ferriday; and two great-grandsona, Micheal Yakey and Troy McDonald, both of Ferriday.

Pallbearers will be family members.

Bessie Clark

Dec. 24, 1902 – Aug. 17, 1999

Services for Bessie Clark, 96, of Baton Rouge, who died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 1999, at Baton Rouge General Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. John O. Brock officiating.

Burial will be at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.

A Rosary service will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel.

Mrs. Clark was born Dec. 24, 1902, in Durant, the daughter of Callie Thompson and Johnson Clark.

She was a seamstress and a home maker. She was a Roman Catholic.

Survivors include her sisters, Vivian Pendleton of Baltimore, Md., Claudia Rayford Linwood of Washington, D.C., and Polly Ann White of Natchez; one nephew, Linwood Rayford III; and three neices, Maria Williams, Lindsey Rayford and Alexandra Williams, all of Silver Springs, Md.
