Secnobia D. Davis

Aug. 12, 1910 – Aug. 21, 1999

FAYETTE – Services for Secnobia D. Davis, 89, of Fayette, who died Saturday, Aug. 21, 1999, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fayette, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Shiloh First Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry D. Jackson officiating.

Burial will be at Hollywood Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home, Inc.

Visitation is from noon to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Davis was born Aug. 12, 1910, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Joe Doss and Everlean Doss. She was a retired cosmetologist and a member of Shiloh First Baptist Church and its Mother Board and choir, Eastern Star Mountain Valley Chapter 29 and the Hollywood Baptist Church Choir.

Davis was preceded in death by her parents and 10 siblings.

Survivors include three daughters; a son-in-law, John E. Dickey; a granddaughter, Kimberly J. Dickey of Jackson; a special nephew, Howard Chambliss Sr. of Fayette; a special niece, Maggie McFadden of San Antonio, Texas; a devoted stepson; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Annie L. Rollins

PATTISON – Services for Annie L. Rollins, 81, who died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, in New Brunswick, N.J., will be at noon Saturday at St. Luke Christian Church with Elder T.E. Harris officiating.

Burial will be at the church cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Inc.

Visitation is from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

She was a housewife, a former resident of Claiborne County and a member of St. Luke Christian Church.

Mrs. Rollins was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Rollins, and two sisters, Beulah Brown and Ethel Woods.

Survivors include a daughter, Floyda Rollins-Gordon of New Brunswick; a son, Floyd D. Rollins Jr. of New Brunswick; a sister, Katie Turner of Milwaukee, Wis.; four brothers, Daniel Lucas and Dan Lucas of Vicksburg, George Lucas of Port Gibson and S.T. Lucas of Chicago; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Harriett Aikerson

Dec. 16, 1923 – Aug. 22, 1999

PORT GIBSON – Services for Harriett &uot;Sallie&uot; Aikerson, 75, who died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, at Claiborne County Nursing Center, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Howard officiating.

Burial will be at Wilson Memorial Park Cemetery on Tillman Road under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday with family hour from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Aikerson was born Dec. 16, 1923, the daughter of Elijah and Agnes Scott-Wilson. She was a retired food service manager for the Claiborne County School District, where she worked for more than 20 years. She was a member of Greater St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, president of the Usher Board, a member of Greater St. Mark’s Senior Matron, president of the Claiborne County Usher Association, executive secretary of the State Usher Association, executive secretary of Claiborne County’s Women’s Association, member of St. Mary’s Chapter No. 2 Order of Eastern Star, where she served as secretary.

Mrs. Aikerson was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Agnes Marie Buck; one son, Barry Aikerson; two brothers, Alfred Wilson and James &uot;Hat&uot; Scott; and one sister, Agnes Wilson.

Survivors include two sons, the Rev. Elijah Wilson Sr. of Chicago and Patrick Aikerson of Port Gibson; six daughters, Virgia Goldsberry, Janet Aikerson and Ester Lee Aikerson, all of Port Gibson, Clara Aikerson-King of El Paso, Texas, Helen Banks and Ethel McBride, both of Chicago; a brother, Lucious Wilson of New Orleans, La.; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Francis D. Hoffman

FERRIDAY, La. – Memorial services for Francis D. &uot;Buddy&uot; Hoffman, 62, of Ferriday, who died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999, in Ferriday, will be at noon today at Highland Park Cemetery with the Rev. Raymond Evans officiating.

Services are under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.

Mr. Hoffman was a resident of Ferriday, a retired truck driver and a member of Westside Baptist Church.

Mr. Hoffman was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Prather Hoffman; his parents, Francis and Leona Davis Hoffman; a brothers, Billy O. Hoffman, Henry H. Hoffman, Basil D. Hoffman and Glen D. Hoffman; a sister, Dorothy L. Nugent.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Ronald D. &uot;Ronnie&uot; Hoffman and Liz of Ferriday; two daughters, Angela &uot;Angie&uot; Hoffman of Saint Francisville and Donna Sue Brown and husband Wes of Weyanoke; two sisters, Mary Kathryn Miller of Houston and Shirley Ann Neal of Ferriday; four grandsons; four granddaughters; one great-grandson; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Janice Pritchard

JONESVILLE, La. – Funeral arrangements for Janice Pritchard, 43, of Jonesville, who died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999, in Jonesville, are incomplete at Young’s Funeral Home.

Mrs. Pritchard was a homemaker.
