Willie Allen

May 2, 1911 – Aug. 24, 1999

VIDALIA, La. – Services for Willie &uot;Mack&uot; Allen, 88, of Vidalia, La., who died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999 at Heritage Manor Health and Rehab Center in Ferriday, La., will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Young’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Shep Bethley officiating.

Burial will be at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home, Inc.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Mr. Allen was born May 2, 1911, in Vidalia, La., the son of John and Estella Dorsey Allen.

He was a retired painter for the Catahoula Parish School Board. He was a member of Young’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Vidalia, served on the Deacon’s Board, and was president of Willing Workers Club. He also served in the U.S. Army from April 7, 1944 to Nov. 12, 1945 earning an honorable discharge.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia Williams Allen of Vidalia; three sons, Solomon Lynch and wife Jean of Shreveport, La., Michael Turner of Vidalia and Raphael Turner of Arlington, Texas; two daughters, Lisa Harper and husband Jeff of Silver Springs, Md., and Marjorie Bowman of Vidalia; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and his church family at Young’s Chapel.

VIDALIA, La. – Services for Iverson Hammack, 60, of Vidalia, La., who died Saturday, Aug. 28, 1999, at Natchez Regional&160;Medical Center in Natchez are incomplete at Laird Funeral Home in Natchez.

Vernon Goodman

BATON ROUGE, La. – Services for Vernon Goodman, 40, of Walker, La., who died Friday, Aug. 27, 1999, at Summit Hospital in Baton Rouge, La., are incomplete at Laird Funeral Home in Natchez.

Robert F. Sabin

Tampa, Fla. – Services for Robert F. Sabin, 79, of Tampa, Fla., who died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999, were at 2 p.m. Friday at Blount Curry & Roel Funeral Home Chapel in Tampa.

Burial was after services at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

A native of Greenwood, Mr. Sabin lived in Tampa since 1941. He was Protestant and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his daughter, Martha Sabin of Tampa; three sons, Walter C. Sabin of Greensboro, N.C., Eobert B. Sabin of Tampa and Walliam G. Sabin of Tampa; a sister Margaret George of Natchez; and four grandchildren.

Linnie K. White

JONESVILLE, La. – Services for Linnie K. White, 92, of Jonesville, who died Saturday, Aug. 28, 1999, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, La., will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Pentecostal Church in Jonesville with the Revs. Jack Knapp, A. J. Kimball and Bryan Taylor officiating.

Burial will be at White Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Comer Funeral Home Inc.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at the church.

Mrs. White was born May 2, 1907, in New Era, La.

She was a homemaker and a member of First Pentecostal Church of Jonesville and a lifelong resident Catahoula Parish.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, James T. White; a daughter, Virginia Tiser; and a son, Acie White.

Survivors include one son, Jack White of Jena,&160;La.; a daughter, Daisy W. Davis of Winnsboro, La.; one sister, Daisy Holland of Bootheville, La.; 16 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Glen Tiser, Ricky White, James Clifford Davis, Bruce Davis, Brian Davis, Barry White, Craig White, John White and John Wesley White Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard B. Tiser, John Tiser III, Jason Tiser, Jodie Tomlinson, Andy Davis, Jay Davis, Chrisopher White, Brantley White and Brett White.
