Seen through the header of a combine, Bubba Davidson, a farmer who works on both sides of the river, has watched some of his soybean crop shrivel and dry up with this season’s lack of rain. Davidson said rain in late spring and early summer helped his corn crop, but the lack of rain later in the summer has hurt his soybeans.
