WCCA Rams top Hounds for first win

The WCCA Rams found the perfect time to win its first football game of the season, homecoming, as they easily defeated the Huntington Hounds 28-6.
Huntington scored first on an 18-yard pitch and run from Collin Taunton to Trey Mason.
The extra point was blocked by Shannon Day.
The rest of the game was then dominated by the Rams, on offense and defense.
The Rams had 312 total yards, 239 rushing, and held Huntington to just 94 total yards of offense.
The Rams scored in the first quarter on seven-yard pass from Bryce Crawford to Clint Flowers.
The point after was good and the Rams took the lead for good.
The Rams then scored in the second quarter on a four-yard quarterback keeper by Crawford.
In the third quarter, Stephen McVea, who had 16 carries for 106 yards, scored on a 20-yard run.
He then scored on a four-yard run in the fourth quarter.
&uot;Offensively, we finally got something going,&uot; WCCA head football coach Tim Nickens said. &uot;The second half, defensively, whe did a better job. Huntington went after us in the first half. Huntington played hard. We made the adjustments and played better in the second half.&uot;
Shannon Day led the defense with 11 tackles, two quarterback sacks, and the blocked extra point.
Josh Prince also had 11 tackles.
WCCA improved to 1-3 and will host Central Private next Friday. Huntington dropped to 1-3
