Man hangs self in Jefferson County jail

FAYETTE – A man arrested by Fayette police Saturday afternoon on traffic charges apparently hung himself with a sheet Saturday night at the Jefferson County Correctional Facility.
Plaze Thomas Jr., 39, of Fayette, was arrested on charges of unpaid fees, expired tag, driving under suspension and reckless operation.
Guards found Thomas’ body between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m.
Funeral arrangements for Thomas were incomplete at Rollins Funeral Home as of Sunday evening.
Jefferson County Sheriff Peter Walker would not return phone calls Sunday.
