Andy Jones

McCALL CREEK- Services for Andy Jones, 13, of McCall Creek, who died Friday, Sept. 17, 1999 at his residence, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, at Adams United Methodist Church.
Burial was at Ebenezer Methodist Church Cemetery under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.
Mr. Jones was born Dec. 21, 1985, in McComb, the son of Lemuel Jones and Jane Temple Jones.
He was a student and a member of Adams United Methodist Church.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his grandfather, Roger Jones.
Survivors include his mother, Jane Temple Jones of McCallCreek; his father, Lemuel Jones of McCall Creek; one brother, Chris Jones of McCall Creek; grandparents, Mr. J.C. Temple and Mrs. Marcaline Temple of Meadville; grandmother, Claudell Jones of McCall Creek; a great- grandmother, Mrs. Ammie Cupit of McCall Creek; and a host of aunts, uncles and other relatives.
James Perry Allen Sr.
Nov. 23, 1924 – Sept. 20, 1999
Services for James Perry Allen Sr., 74, of Natchez, who died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Robertson officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at First Baptist Church.
Mr. Allen was born Nov. 23, 1924, in Jefferson Coun ty, the son of the late Robert James and Ollie Mae Smith Allen.
He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Charlie Seale Sunday school class. He was the former postmaster in Fayette and chief engineer at WNTZ television station. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. He was also a member of the Ham Radio Club of Natchez.
Mr. Allen was preceded in death by one son, Robert Clayton Allen, and a grandson, John Allen.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Myers Allen of Natchez; four sons, James Perry Allen Jr. and Mark Steven Allen, both of Natchez, Bryan Lee Allen of Granbury, Iowa, and Phillip Michael Allen of Fullerton, Calif.; one sister, Minnie Anne Darsey of Fayette, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Meyers of Natchez; and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Frank Krize, Charlie Seale, John Leckie, Hugh Tedder, Dwight Barnes and Josh Joshvanger.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Charlie Seale Sunday school class.
Leona Ellard
FERRIDAY, La. – Funeral arrangements for Leona Ellard, 85, of Jonesville, who died Sept. 22, 1999, at Riverland Medical Center are incomplete at Comer Funeral Home.
Amos J. Franklin
July 11, 1914 – Sept. 18, 1999
JONESVILLE, La. – Services for Amos J. Franklin, 85, of Jonesville, who died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999, in Jonesville, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 20, at Oak Grove Free Methodist Church with the Revs. R.V. Jolly, Wade Robinson, Brian Taylor and David McGuffee officiating.
Burial was at Heard Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Mr. Franklin was born July 11, 1914, in Olla.
He was a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and a member of Oak Grove Free Methodist Church. He served in World War II. He earned a Campaign Medal with two Bronze Stars, a Good Conduct Medal, a Purple Heart, a Victory Ribbon and an Overseas Service Bar. He was a softball coach.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Franklin; five daughters, Margie Toney of Natchez, Mildred Lippman and Carolyn Butts, both of Jonesville, Shirley Goodwin of Sicily Island, and Barbara Reynolds of Alexandria; 15 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Matt Merritt, Glen Lippman, Russell Lippman, Jeff Goodwin, Todd Hartman and Brad Butts.
Honorary pallbearers were Tony Lippman, Ronald Cockerham, Lloyd Cockerham, Frankie Bass, Freddie Bass and Sean Reynolds.
