Black Caucus meets in Natchez

The Mississippi Legislative Black Caucus invites the community to a legislative forum Saturday at the Alcorn State University School of Nursing.
It is one of several forums the caucus has held in Mississippi this year.
The forums are a chance for residents to share opinions and to find out what citizens across the state are talking about.
&uot;We will be talking about all the various information we have obtained through the previous forums we’ve conducted,&uot; said Rep. Phillip West.
Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. The program will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude around 1 p.m.
&uot;This is the fifth of five public forums we’ve held,&uot; West said.
The forum is for constituents in the Fourth Congressional District, he said.
The forum will cover information in such areas as education, economic development, welfare, state budget and heathcare.
Presenters include Speaker Pro-Tem Robert Clark, Sen. Barbara Blackmon and Rep. Omerin Scott.
Members of the local delegation will also be present. The event is free and open to the public. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. It is hosted by West, Rep. David Green, Sen. Robert Johnson, Rep. America Middleton and Rep. David Myers.
