Rebels can’t make up for bad first half

The ACCS Rebels had a terrible first half against Jackson Academy and were never able to recover, losing by the score of 42-12 Friday night at Jackson Academy in a District 2AAAA game.
&uot;We were in it,&uot; ACCS head football coach Bo Swilley said. &uot;The first two times we fumbled the ball, they got it inside our 25-yard line. We spotted them 14 points off the bat.&uot;
Quarterback Ty Smith completed 17 of 37 passes for 219 yards with two interceptions. Mickey Ellis had 43 yards rushing and Ryan Porter had 20 yards rushing. Lee Watts caught six passes for 70 yards.
&uot;We didn’t convert when we needed to. We dropped some passes. We fumbled the ball and we missed too many tackles,&uot; Swilley said.
Hayden Wadsworth led the defense with 15 tackles. Landon Burr had 14 tackles. Chase Bradford had 13 tackles. Watts had 12 tackles. ACCS dropped to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in district play and will play Parklane next Friday.
