Henrietta Collins Buford

May 24, 1913 – Sept. 16, 1999

FERRIDAY, La. – Services for Henrietta Collins Buford, 86, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at the Camelot Leisure Living Nursing Home in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Concordia Funeral Home with Elder J.L. George officiating.

Burial will be in the National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Buford was born May 24, 1913, in Ferriday, the daughter of Mack and Eliza Rutland Collins.

She was a retired school teacher for the Concordia Parish School System with 32 years of service. She was a graduate of Grambling State University and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Frogmore.

Survivors include two nieces, Vivian Carter and Velma Meredith, both of Ferriday; one sister, Suzanna Buford of Monroe; two sisters-in-law, Lela Collins of Monroe and Dorothy Collins of Wildsville; one godchild, Ruth Collins of Monroe; and a number of other relatives.

James A. Brown

May 10, 1926 – Sept. 24, 1999

PASCAGOULA – Services for James A. Brown, 73, of Escatawpa, who died Friday, Sept. 24, 1999, was held at 4 p.m. Sept. 26, 1999, at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Chapel.

Burial was held in the Machpelah Cemetery under the direction of O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home.

Brown was born May 10, 1926, in Lincoln County the son of James M. and Lizzie Prestridge Brown.

He was retired from International Paper after 37 years of service. He was a World War II Army veteran and of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Troy, Talmedge and Ira Brown; two sisters, Maxine Kelly and Louise Laird.

Survivors include his wife, Mattie Huckaby Brown of Escatawpa; two daughters and son-in-law, Sheila Hutcherson and Sherry and Ricky Neal, all of Pascagoula; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Margie Brown of Natchez, George and Sheila Brown of Bogue Chitto, Truitt and Earnestine Brown of Brookhaven; one sister, Guynell Bond of Baton Rouge, La.; five grandchildren, Douglas Perry, Dale and Dawn Hucherson, Renee Lynd and Lesley Neal; two great-grandchildren, Gabe and Jerrica Perry; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Ricky Neal, Stephen Huckaby, Jeff Huckaby, Mike George, Maxie Brown and Terrell Read Jr.

Luther Kilcrease

PORT GIBSON – Services for Luther &uot;Big Luke&uot; Kilcrease, 29, who died Thursday, Sept. 23, 1999, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Greater St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. Leon Howard and Eddie Walls Sr. officiating.

Burial will be in the Thompson Memorial Garden Cemetery in Port Gibson under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Inc.

Visitation is from 1 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.

Survivors include his mother, Lenzy Ruth Kilcrease of Port Gibson; a son, Luther Goods of Port Gibson; a friend, Monique Queen of Port Gibson; three brothers, Danny Boulton of Annapolis, Md., Willie Kilcrease Jr. and Melvin Kilcrease of Port Gibson; 10 sisters, Gloria Boulton, Linda Boulton, Bobbie Boulton, Lou Anne Washington, Rose Reuben, Martha Boulton and Nancy Boulton, all of Port Gibson, Rose Huggins, Margaret O’Quinn and Anna Jean Cooper, all of St. Louis, Mo.; four uncles, Alfred Johnson of Annapolis, David Wynn of Jackson, James Wilson and Johnny Briscoe of Port Gibson; five aunts, Mary Jane Wynn, Shirley Barnes and Leesco Gusta, all of Port Gibson, Johnnie Vanderpool of Westbury Long Island, N.Y., and Priscilla Anderson of Orangeburg, S. C.; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Celia M. Long

FOULES – Services for Celia M. Long, 87, of Foules, who died Thursday, Sept. 23, 1999, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. T. A. Baker officiating.

Burial will be in the Church Cemetery under the direction of Richardson and Sims Funeral Home.

Survivors include a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Timothy Green

RUSSUM – Services for Timothy Green, 22, who died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at his residence, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Antioch Christian Church with Elder Willie Wilson officiating.

Burial will be in the McKay Cemetery in Russum under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Inc.

Visitation is from 1 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from noon until service time Wednesday at the church.

He graduated from Port Gibson High School where he was a member of the National Honor Society and Blue Knights. He attended Jackson State University. He was a member of Antioch Christian Church, where he participated in Sunday School and the church choir.

Survivors include his mother, Greateal Green of Port Gibson; his father, Julius Earl Green Sr. of Port Gibson; one brother, Julius E. Green II of Vicksburg; a paternal grandmother, Carnella Martin Green of Port Gibson; a maternal grandmother, Mabel Brooks of Natchez; five uncles, Nelson Green of Port Gibson, Cornelius Green of Jackson, Edgar Green Jr. of Panama City, Fla., Curtis L. Brooks of San Francisco and Daniel Brooks of Natchez; eight aunts, Janice McGee, Inez Green and Linda Smith of Jackson, Gwendolyn Green, Addie Green, Everjean Small and Catherine Williams of Port Gibson and Ida Brooks of Natchez; three great-uncles, Charles Green of Port Gibson, George Brooks Sr. of Natchez and Booker T.
