Carlos Turner

Sept. 10, 1958 – Sept. 19, 1999

Services for Carlos Turner, 41, who died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999, at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Toledo, Ohio, was held at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. John Tyne officiating.

Burial was in Winston Cemetery in Stanton under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.

Mr. Turner was born on Sept. 10, 1958, in Chicago, son of Lula Mae Turner Ivory and Lawrence Butler Jr.

He attended Holy Family School and Sadie V. Thompson School. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a construction worker.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Sanchez Turner.

Survivors include his parents; one daughter, Kameshala Turner of Natchez; two sons, Tavaris Turner and Anthony Chatman of Natchez; one brother, Robert Monroe Ivory of Camp Pendleton, Calif.; three sisters, Virginia McDaniel of Natchez, Mary Ellen and Hilaree Butler, both of Chicago, Ill.; a grandmother, Geneva Turner of Natchez; a stepgrandfather, Walter Levi of Natchez; four aunts, Zula Mae Lee and Lizzie Mason of Chicago, Clara Mae Watts and spouse Roosevelt of Prentiss and Regina Davis of North Chicago; his fiancee, Easter Smoot of Toledo, Ohio; and a number of relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Gregory Causey, Jimmy Johnson, Lesley Coleman, Wesley Smith and Anthony McCoy.

Dorothy Stubblefield Campbell

Jan. 5, 1912 – Sept. 27, 1999

BROOKHAVEN – Services for Dorothy &uot;Dotty&uot; Stubblefield Campbell, 87, of Brookhaven, who died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, at King’s Daughters Hospital in Brookhaven, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the New Prospect Baptist Church with Bro. Willie Welch officiating.

Burial will be in the Roseland Cemetery in Gloster under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 4 to 10 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Campbell was born Jan. 5, 1912, in Carroll County, the daughter of Harris Stubblefield and Minnie Ester Armstrong.

She was a storekeeper, an alderman in Crosby and a member of New Prospect Baptist Church in Brookhaven.

Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vaughn Lamar Campbell; and one son, Master Sgt. Harris Campbell.

Survivors include four daughters, Dorothy hanson of Lena, Olive McDowell of Brookhaven, retired Colonel Minnie Laura Campbell of Albuquerque, N.M. and Laverne Temple of Brookhaven; two sons, retired Colonel John Campbell of Punta Gorde, Fla., and retired Sgt. Maj. Steve Campbell, USMC, of Hattiesburg; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

George R. Segrest

Oct. 12, 1955 – Sept. 28, 1999

Services for George R. Segrest, 43, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Curtis Smith officiating.

Burial will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Segrest was born Oct. 12, 1955, in Jacksonville, N.C., the son of Robert Osborne and Dorothy Ann Johns Segrest.

He was staff manager at American General Life Insurance Company.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert O. Segrest and one sister, Bobbie Ann Segrest.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Segrest of Natchez; one son, Robert Segrest of Natchez; one daughter, Tammy Segrest Dungan of Natchez; two stepsons, Nicholas Herron and Christopher Herron of Natchez; one granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Dungan; his mother; an aunt, Betty Greer of Natchez; two sisters, Angie Whitehead and Connie Archer of Natchez; one brother, Johnny Segrest of Natchez.

Pallbearers will be Justin Whitehead, Robert Segrest, John Segrest Jr., Bobby Byrnes, Chuck Bartlett and Brad Seyfarth.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Seyfarth, Brian Seyfarth, Billy Ray Parker, James Parker, Donnie Parker and employees of American General.

Otis E. Robertson

Funeral arrangements for Otis E. Robertson, 83, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family request memorials be made to Washington Baptist Church or a charity of one’s choice.

Complete arrangements will be announced by Laird Funeral Home.
