Verna Yvette Henderson

Services for Verna Yvette Henderson, 31, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999 at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Melrose Church of Christ with Minister Micheal Hoggatt officiating.

Burial will be at Pine Hill Memorial Park under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation is from noon to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Miss Henderson was born April 27, 1968 in Adams County, the daughter of Robert Henderson Sr. and Yvonne Henderson. She was a member of Fourth Street Church of Christ and later attended Melrose Church of Christ.

Survivors include her mother, Yvonne S. Henderson of Natchez; her father and his wife, Robert and Mary L. Henderson of Natchez; one sister, Wanda R. Henderson of Natchez; two brothers, Robert E. Henderson III and Joseph I. Henderson of Natchez; two stepsisters, Nichie L. Mosby and Andrea L. Johnson of Natchez; two uncles and their wives, Vernon and Marie Smith, Raymond and Jerlene Smith, all of Atlanta; two aunts and their husbands, Mary and Ken Tillage of Baton Rouge, La., and Thelma and Frank Wilson of 29 Palms, Calif.; two nieces, Lenita S. Henderson and Nikkarius Henderson of Natchez; one nephew, Quincy T. Mosby Hardin of Natchez; Dwight R. Anderson of Natchez; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Willie Minor, Alan Henderson, Otimus &uot;Charles&uot; Henderson, Terrance Logan, Kendrick Cameron and Carlos Lewis.

Otis E. Robertson

July 15, 1916 – Sept. 28, 1999

Services for Otis E. Robertson, 83, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 1 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Howard Peak, Richard Pass and Norris Curry officiating.

Burial will be at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Robertson was born July 15, 1916 in Kirby, the son of James Jadie and Louisiana Virginia Aldridge Robertson.

He was a member of Washington Baptist Church and a Charter member of Cranfield Baptist Church. He devoted 50 plus years of his life to the development and maintenance of the Natchez Trace Parkway and was awarded the prestigious Post Rider Award by the National Park Service for his distinguished service to the Natchez Trace.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, George and Sharon Robertson of Fulton, Ala.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Ken Davis of Natchez and Ruth and Robert Nichols of Clarksville, Ga.; four grandchildren, Krista Robertson of Baton Rouge, La., Amy Robertson of Fulton, Ala., Leslye Davis of Oxford and Ryan Davis of Natchez; a sister, Ruby Hudnall of Natchez; four sisters-in-law, Maude Robertson of Missouri City, Texas, Daisy Powell, Jackie Frost and Boo Frost, all of Natchez; numerous nieces and nephews; and six special friends, Henrietta Carpenter, Mary Ferrell, Trellis Johnson, Cordelia Edwards, Buffy Robertson and Nan Goins.

Pallbearers will be Stuart Hudnall, Harry Hudnall, Kim Fuller, Carroll Williams, Alfred Smith and Curtis Cowart Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be J. L. Thomas, Curtis Cowart Sr., Allen McCallister, Dickie Williams, Ira Williams and Charles Carpenter.

The family request memorials be made to Washington Baptist Church or a charity of one’s choice.

Estelle J. Cooper

Oct. 25, 1904 – Sept. 28, 1999

Memorial services for Estelle J. Cooper, 94, of the Natchez/Vidalia area, who died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, at her residence in Vidalia, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Sam Tomlinson officiating.

Visitation is from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Mrs. Cooper was born Oct. 25, 1904, in Barnwell, S.C., the daughter of Henry Theodore and Annie Columbia McDonald Jones.

Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by a daughter, Hilda Metz.

Survivors include a son, J. Wesley Cooper of Natchez; a daughter, Constance Lamb of Greensboro, N.C.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
