FAYETTE – Services for Eloise Chambliss Tinner, 56, of Fayette, who died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Percy Turner officiating.

Burial will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Tinner was born Jan. 12, 1943, in Jefferson County, the son of Howard Chambliss and Katherine Trimble Chambliss. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she was a member of the usher board at New Hope Baptist Church. She was a housewife.

Mrs. Tinner was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Chambliss; her parents, two brothers, Robert Chambliss and Charles Chambliss and a sister, Stella Scott.

Survivors include her husband, Wendell Tinner; six sons, Wendell Tinner of Roxie, Alphonso Tinner of Amite, La., Pierre Tinner, Vernon Tinner, Cedric Tinner and Lorenzo Tinner, all of Fayette; five daughters, Shandra Tinner of Phoenix, Sheena Tinner of New Orleans, Emma Tinner of Port Gibson, Clarinda Tinner of Natchez and Francesca Jackson of Fayette; a stepdaughter, Ann Anderson of Fayette; five sisters, Willie Mae Promise of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Exelena Martin of Vicksburg, Bessie Cleveland Jackson of Jackson, Helen Reed and Emma Lee Chambliss of Fayette; an aunt, Anna Lockett of Fayette; 32 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers are friends of the family. Honorary pallbearers are Wendell Tinner, Alphonso Tinner, Pierre Tinner, Vernon Tinner, Cedric Tinner and Lorenzo Tinner.

Alphonso Chambers

PORT GIBSON – Services for Alphonso &uot;Putten&uot; Chambers, 85, who died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999 at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Nelson officiating.

Burial will be at the Jessimine Ridge Cemetery in Lorman under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Inc.

Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

He was a member and deacon of Second Baptist Church and a member of Port Gibson Lodge No. 21.

Mr. Chambers was preceded in death by his father, Richard Chambers; his mother, Louise Chambers; two sisters, Velma Chambers and Everlean Cox; one brother, Steve Chambers.

Survivors include a daughter, Helen Chambers of Port Gibson; a son, Jimmie Chambers Sr. of St. Louis; cousin, O’Neal Chambers of Port Gibson; friend, Jerome Williams of Port Gibson; four grandchildren, Yarice D. Chambers of Houston, Texas, Jimmie Chambers of St. Louis, Noel Chambers of Atlanta, and Jerome Chambers of San Antonio; six great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Reginald Hutchins

July 19, 1973 – Oct. 10, 1999

Services for Reginald Hutchins, 26, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999 at his residence, will be at noon Sat. at True Bibleway Apostolic Faith Church with Pastor Andre Ramsey officiating.

Burial will be at the Southwood Lodge Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until service time Sat. at the church.

Mr. Hutchins was born July 19, 1973 in Adams County, the son of Willie Roy Jones and Sharon Hutchins.

He was a member of True Bibleway Apostolic Faith Church.

Survivors include his mother, Sharon Diane Hutchins; five sisters, Morissa Hutchins, Shemicka Hutchins, Ebony Hutchins, Kimberly Hutchins and Whitney Hutchins; four brothers, Kelvin Hutchins, Paul Markees Hutchins, Willie Hutchins and Demond Hutchins; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Willie Lee Jones, Clarence Jones Jr., Herman Jones, Randy Reynolds, Coiler Jones and Samuel Jones.

Clara Mae Green

Feb. 11, 1961 – Oct. 8, 1999

FAYETTE – Services for Clara Mae Green, 38, of Fayette, who died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Jefferson County High School Auditorium with the Rev. Percy Turner officiating.

Burial will be at the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Sat. at the Auditorium.

Mrs. Green was born Feb. 11, 1961, in Adams County, the daughter of Leonard Fitzgerald Sr. and Tina Fitzgerald.

She was employed with Zip Zap Convenient Store in Fayette and a member of Linwood Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Karl Green Sr. of Fayette; three children, Camelia Fitzgerald of Hattiesburg, Kaneshia Green and Karl Green Jr., both of Fayette; mother, Tina Fitzgerald of Natchez; six sisters, Shirley Simon of Chicago, Joyce Woods of Natchez, Edna and husband Berine Stewart of Woodville, Carolyn Fitzgerald of Marietta, Ga., Elissa and husband Artie Morris of Los Angeles, Tracy and husband Ferdinand Scott of Norcross, Ga.; five brothers, Leonard and wife Ruth Fitzgerald of Glendale Heights, Ill., Earl Fitzgerald of Bellwood, Ill., Eddie and spouse Deborah Fitzgerald of New Orleans, Micheal and wife Althea Fitzgerald of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Steve Fitzgerald of Roxie; life long friend, Shelly Franklin of Natchez; and a number of in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Edward Steward

March 5, 1898 – Oct. 8, 1999

Services for Edward Steward, 101, of Fayette, who died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at Jefferson County Nursing Home in Fayette, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Smith Chapel Church of God in Christ with the Rev. Douglas Anderson officiating.

Burial will be at the Rosehill Christian Church Cemetery in Lorman under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home.

Bro. Steward was born March 5, 1898, in Copiah County, the son of Monroe and Lula Jacob Steward.

He was a farmer for many years and a member and Deacon of the Church of God in Christ for over 60 years.

Bro. Steward was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Smith Steward; his parents; one son, Joseph Earl Steward Sr.; two grandchildren, Joseph Earl Steward Jr. and Timothy D. Steward.

Survivors include seven grandchildren and spouses, Carrie and Willie Pearle of Mission Viejo, Calif., Henry and Caroline Steward of Carson, Calif., Edward J. Steward of Houston, Texas, Mary and Robert Dysart of Union City, Tenn., John L. Steward of Los Angeles, Joshua W. Steward of Fayetteville, N.C. and Ruth E. Booker of Bellflower, Calif.; 19 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Leon Smith of Redlick; one sister-in-law, Mary Johnson of Los Angeles; niece, Rosie Green of Redlick; nephew, Nathan Shaw of Fayette.

Maggie Lenore Lucas

WILLOW COMMUNITY – Services for Maggie Lenore Lucas, 87, who died Wednesday, at the Parkview Regional Medical Center in Vicksburg, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Campbell Chapel Church with the Rev. J. P. Neal officiating.

Burial will be at the Lucas Family Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home.

Visitation is fronm 1 p.m. to 6 p.m with family hour from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and Sunday from noon until time of service.

Mrs. Lucas was a member and mother of Campbell Chapel Church.

Survivors include seven sons, Joseph Lucas, Tom Lucas, James Lucas and J.W. Lucas, all of Chicago, Willie Lucas Jr. of Hillside, Ill., Daniel Lucas and Marvin Lucas, both of Port Gibson; one daughter, Ruth Storks of Maywood, Ill.; one sister, Carrie Ford of Chicago; 23 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Lucille T. Smith

Feb. 21, 1919 – Oct. 14, 1999

Services for Lucille T. Smith, 80, of Bude, who died Thursday, at Southern Care Hospice, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, 1999, at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be at the Concord Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.

Visitation is today from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until time of service.

Ms. Smith was a homemaker.

Survivors include two daughters, Myra Walters of Bude and Helen Smith of Smithdale; one brother, Decatur Temple of Picayune; six grand children and six great-grandchildren.

Charles Martin Mangum

Funeral arrangements for Charles Martin Mangum, 78, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Oct. 14, 1999, at Natchez Regional Midical Center, are incomplete at Laird Funeral Home.

Walter Harris

Oct. 12, 1912 – Oct. 9, 1999

BEECH GROVE, La. – Services for Walter Harris, 86, of Baton Rouge, who died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, in Baton Rouge, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Beech Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Riley Harbor Jr. officiating.

Burial will be at the Church Cemetery under the direction of Williams and Williams Funeral Home.

Mr. Harris was born Oct. 12, 1912, in Woodville, the son of Eugene Harris and Febbie Hawkins.

He was a farmer and head deacon at Beech Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Fannie Harris of Baton Rouge; one daughter, Rosalie Vessel of Baton Rouge; one son, Frank Harris of Baton Rouge and a number of grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Saul Bruce

Sept. 14, 1934 – Oct. 6, 1999

Services for Saul Bruce, 65, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m., Friday, at George F. West Chapel, with the Rev. Robert Greene officiating.

Burial will be at the National Cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation is today from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Bruce was born Sept. 14, 1934, the son of the late Emma Armstrong and John Bruce.

He was educated in the Natchez Public School System and a member of the Army.

He received a National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal, W/3 Bronze Service Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with palm, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea) and Army Commendation Medal.

Survivors include his wife, Mamie Robinson Bruce; one daughter and husband Charlotte and W. M. McCoy; one grandson, Elbert C. Robinson of Northfort, Va.; a mother-in-law, Charlotte R. Curtis; several sisters-in-law, several brothers-in-law and a number of nieces,nephews, other relatives and friends.
