Natchez loses in district

Wayne County took advantage of four Natchez turnovers in defeating the Bulldogs 33-7 in Waynesboro Friday.

Natchez fell to 1-6 overall and 0-4 in Region 3-5A play.

The Bulldogs’ only score came on a 5-yard run by Roderick Conner.

Wayne County led Natchez 14-6 after one period of play, scoring one touchdown on an interception return.

&uot;We were able to move the ball, but we hurt ourselves with turnovers,&uot; said Natchez coach Elbert &uot;Mo&uot; Lyles.

Natchez travels to Meridian next Friday.
