Since their days as small children singing with their parents, The Sensational Veal Brothers have loved gospel music. Tonight at 7 at Christian Hope Baptist Church, the Sensational Veal Brothers will celebrate their 24th year of singing together with a live recording of their next CD.
&uot;The Natchez area has always been very supportive of us,&uot; said Larry Veal, third oldest brother in the quartet.
Originally from Gloster, the brothers – the Rev. Robert Veal Jr., Charles Veal, Larry Veal and Jerry Veal – are joined by L. C. Clark and Jeffrey Gibson to compose the singing group.
&uot;We deal with several churches in the Natchez area, and Christian Hope Baptist is bigger for our recording and the pastor is a great friend of ours,&uot; Larry Veal said.
One of the poignant songs scheduled for tonight is a special dedication of &uot;I’ll see you when I get there,&uot; to a sister-in-law lost in an auto accident last year.
Also featured in the program will be the Wal-Mart Supercenter Choir and special guest Rev. Flem Bronner from the Bronner Brothers singing group. Minister Charles Clay Jr. will also be featured in the program.
The Sensational Veal Brothers have performed nationwide and have been invited on several occasions to tour abroad, said Larry Veal. &uot;We’re crazy about traveling,&uot; he said. &uot;We spend most of our time on the road.&uot;
The CD that is recorded tonight will probably be available in local record stores in late January 2000, Larry Veal said.
Pieces from two other performances this month may appear on the CD, he said.
&uot;We’ll perform Oct. 29 at Embrew Baptist Church in Woodville and the following Sunday at Woodson County High School in Woodville,&uot; he said.
