Police nab two drug suspects

Within minutes, Natchez Police had two drug-criminals behind bars Tuesday with two separate arrests within the city limits.
Patrick D. Williams, 22, 110 Parker Street and Claude Henderson, 21, 27 Dogwood Drive, were both apprehended by police around 3 p.m.
&uot;What is unique about this is that it was almost at the same time,&uot; said Natchez Police Chief Willie Huff. &uot;(Williams and Henderson) are not strangers to the Natchez City Jail.
At around 3:03 p.m., police arrested William for possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Both were being held without bond Tuesday.
Police first noticed Williams because he was speeding down Franklin Street in his 1991 Mitsubishi, Huff said.
&uot;Williams attempted to allude (police) by going down several side streets,&uot; Huff said.
After a four-block low-speed chase, Williams abandoned his vehicle on Quitman Street and took off running. The vehicle continued moving until it struck a parked truck, Huff said.
Police located Williams shortly afterwards.
&uot;He was captured hiding in a storage-shed at a private residence at O’Brian Street,&uot; Huff said.
Police say they found 16 grams of crack cocaine or about $3,200 worth, on Williams. He also allegedly was carrying 8 grams or about $80 worth of marijuana.
Around 2:57 p.m., in the same area of town, police arrested Henderson on charges of parole violation and simple possession of 11 grams or about $100 of marijuana.
Police first saw Henderson on St. Catherine Street.
&uot;(The officers) spotted him and knew we had warrants on him,&uot; Huff said.
Henderson tried to run away but was soon captured at an oil company building on 23 Old&160;D’Evereux Drive.
The officers arrested him inside the building, Huff said.
