Outdoorsman Expo this weekend

If the cooler weather has not gotten you into the hunting spirit, the ninth annual Southern Outdoorsman Expo is sure to do the trick.

The expo is being held Friday through Sunday at the Natchez Convention Center.

&uot;There’s going to be something everyone,&uot; said coordinator John E. Myers. &uot;We’re going to have all types of hunting and fishing gear from all over the country.&uot;

Featured highlights of the show will be the Mississippi-Louisiana Big Buck Display, which is open for any deer harvested after 1946. The Arkansas Big Buck Display also returns.

The Whitetail Collection of Mississippi will also be on display, as well as the Big Buck Classic contest, which also takes deer from after 1946.

The third annual deer grunt calling contest will be held. Country comedians Ed and Fred will be on hand with their popluar Adventures of Ed and Fred tapes.

There will also be a turkey calling seminar, duck calling seminar and a labrador retriever hunting seminar. The popular South Texas Snake Handlers will be back, along with the trout pond for kids to fish. Fish will be tagged and prizes awarded.

A wildlife art village is on display, as well as a four-wheeler and boat display. Vendors from all over the country will be displaying their products.

Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for children.

Doors open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday.

The expo will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
