Mays runs wild in Vidalia win roll

In what was supposed to have been a tough between two of the top 10 teams in Louisiana Class 2A, No. 7 Vidalia routed No. 5 Loyola of Shreveport 35-0 Friday night.
The Vikings had 394 yards of total offense, 358 of them on the ground. The defense held Loyola to only 119 total yards.
&uot;I think our offensive line really stepped it up,&uot; Vidalia assistant coach Gary Parnham said. &uot;They played really well.&uot;
The Vikings were led by the running of Dariel Mays, who had 31 carries for 314 yards and all five touchdowns.
Mays scored on a 35-yard run in the first quarter and added the two-point conversion in the first quarter. He also scored on runs of 90 yards in the second quarter, two and three yards in the third quarter and one yard in the fourth quarter.
Jarrett Hoffpauir completed two of seven passes for 36 yards and no interceptions.
The Viking defense forced four fumbles and recovered two of them.
Vidalia improved to 7-1 overall while Loyola dropped to 6-2 overall.
