Meridian scored 21 points in the second quarter and went on to defeat the Natchez Bulldogs 34-0 in a region 3-5A game Friday night at Meridian.
Meridian scored in the first quarter on a one-yard run by Gerrod Williams. Wesley Bryan added the extra point.
Meridian broke the game open with three touchdowns in the second quarter.
Williams scored his second touchdown on another one-yard run. Daniel Spinks threw touchdown passes of 28 and 43 yards to Marco Hill as Meridian took a 28-0 halftime lead.
Meridian scored its last touchdown of the game in the third game as Williams scored on a two-yard run, giving him three touchdowns for the game.
Natchez dropped to 1-8 overall and 0-5 in region play. Meridian improved to 6-3 overall and 4-1 in region play.
