Hillcrest upends ACCS

Despite a good game by quarterback Ty Smith, the ACCS Rebels lost to Hillcrest Academy 37-28 in an Academy 2-AAAA game Friday night.
Smith completed 20 of 39 passes for 274 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
&uot;My seniors went above and beyond what they were expected to do,&uot; ACCS head coach Bo Swilley said. &uot;They worked very hard.&uot;
ACCS led 7-6 after the first quarter, only to see Hillcrest outscore the Rebels 31-21 the rest of the game.
Lee Watts had three catches for 93 yards. Russ Marks had six catches for 88 yards and a touchdown. Ryan Porter had three catches for 53 yards and had 80 yards rushing.
David Ellis two catches for 24 yards and a touchdown. Hayden Wadsworth had four catches for 52 yards and two rushing touchdowns.
Casey McGehee led the defense with 13 tackles, followed by Justin Thornton with eight tackles and Mickey Ellis with seven tackles.
ACCS finished the season at 3-7 overall and 0-5 in district play. Hillcrest finished 3-7 overall and 1-4 in district play.
