Favre set to break record against Bears

The moment Brett Favre steps up to the center at Lambeau Field, he will add another record to his lofty NFL resume.
Favre will break the consecutive starts by a quarterback record. The record was formerly held by the Philadelphia Eagle’s Ron Jaworski who set the record 1977-1984.
Sunday will make the 117th consecutive start by a quarterback since 1948, the first year starts can be accurately determined.
The closest quarterback is Pittsburgh’s Kordell Stewart with 39 starts.
The Fenton native has become the mainstay and inspirational leader for the Packers. During his consecutive start streak, Favre has won three consecutive NFL MVP awards and made two consecutive Super Bowl appearances. Favre and the Packers won their first Super Bowl against New England.

This year hasn’t been easy for the former University of Southern Mississippi star.
Favre injured the thumb on his throwing hand of in the preseason. He reinjured the thumb on the first game of the regular season.
Favre’s play had prognosticators picking him for a fourth MVP trophy. He has led the Packers to two last second victories over NFL foes.
Dealing with the injury has led to some inconsistent play by Favre. In the past three games, he has had two terrible outings against Denver and Seattle.
As the schedule toughens, Packer fans hope Favre can regain the form that has made him the best quarterback in the NFL.
&uot;I’m extremely disappointed in myself and our team for our performance against the Seahawks. We have to regroup like we did after the Broncos game and come out fighting against one of our biggest rivals, the Bears,&uot; Favre said.
&uot;We have a very difficult stretch ahead of us starting with the Bears contest. We then play at Dallas, which has always been a tough place for us to play. The first-place Lions then come to Green Bay for a game, which could determine first place in the Central Division.&uot;
No matter what the season has in store for the Packers, one thing is for certain. Brett Favre will undoubtedly be on the field leading the way.
