The Rev. Dennis Flach hopes community members can recognize and be thankful for their diversity this Thanksgiving.
The Natchez Ministerial Alliance will host its annual community-wide Thanksgiving service at 7 p.m. today at Christian Hope Baptist Church on LaSalle Street.
Flach, pastor of New Covenant Presbyterian Church and president of the Ministerial Alliance, said everyone is welcome to attend the service, which will include preaching and singing.
He said he hopes as a result of the service people are &uot;able to be genuinely thankful for God’s provisions. As ordinary as they seem they really are quite extraordinary.&uot;
&uot;Some people will need to know better days ahead, but they can still be thankful for the day they have,&uot; he said.
With so many different people from different churches, Flach said he expects &uot;a good and diversified evening.&uot;
A special collection at the service will be donated to the Sunshine Shelter for Abused and Neglected Children. Christian Hope Pastor the Rev. John Scott will give the message at the service.
The Ministerial Alliance is a voluntary organization open to all Christian ministers. The Thanksgiving service rotates each year to a different church in the alliance.
