Airport work almost complete

Airport renovations are moving slower than expected but should be complete by the end of the year, said Clint Pomeroy, director of aviation for the Adams County Airport Commission.

Pomeroy reported progress at the airport to Adams County supervisors at their regular meeting Monday.

Ransom Construction Co. of Natchez has been renovating the Natchez-Adams County Airport Terminal building since July.

&uot;The project includes general renovation of the building,&uot; Pomeroy said.

Work on the airport building includes replacement of the heating and air conditioning system in the terminal, he said.

&uot;Electrical is 80 percent complete,&uot; Pomeroy said. &uot;The big conduits are in.&uot;

The $115,000 construction project was originally expected to be complete in October.

&uot;We’re about 90 percent complete,&uot; Pomeroy said Monday.

One of the construction slow downs has been a longer than expected wait for custom made doors for the terminal building.

Pomeroy said he is optimistic that renovation will be complete around Dec. 15-17.
