Forecasters: White Christmas unlikely

If you’re dreaming of a white Christmas … keep dreaming.
As of Saturday, the National Weather Service in Jackson was predicting dry weather and highs near 50 through Christmas Day.
And although it is supposed to be chilly today, with highs in the mid-40s, lows in the mid-20s and north winds of 10 to 15 miles per hour, skies should be fair.
Actually, a sleigh lands best on snowy ground — but Santa Claus, contacted Tuesday by The Natchez Democrat, foresaw no problems delivering presents this year.
&uot; The sleigh will be fully loaded, because a lot of boys and girls have been good this year,&uot;&160;Claus said. &uot;We might run a little late, but we’ll get there before morning.
&uot; We’ve experienced some turbulence in the past, but we’re like the Postal Service — neither rain nor sleet nor snow will keep us away.&uot; Or, in this case, the lack thereof.
