Lady Rebs upend Hillcrest

The ACCS Lady Rebels got 21 points from Laurie Davis in a 54-31 win over Hillcrest Tuesday night in a MPSA South AAAA game.

The Lady Rebels outscored Hillcrest 45-24 in the final three quarters after leading only 9-7 after one quarter.

ACCS improved 18-9 overall and 5-3 in MPSA South AAAA. Hillcrest dropped to 7-20 overall.

Hillcrest’s varsity boys team improved to 22-3 with a convincing 79-31 win over the ACCS Rebels.

Garrett Noel scored 13 points to lead Hillcrest, who shut out the Rebels 22-0 on its way to the victory.

Ryan Davis and Hayden Wadsworth each had seven points for the Rebels, who dropped to 6-12 on the season.

ACCS plays at Jackson Prep on Thursday.

Trinity, Tensas split

Robin Rae Burns led four players in double figures with 24 points as the Tensas Lady Chiefs defeated the Trinity Lady Saints 66-36 Tuesday night in a District 6A contest.

Beth Waters and Shelby Alford each finished with 11 points and Tabitha Kelly had 10 points for Tensas.

Becky Bass led Trinity with 12 points and Ashley Kingsafer had seven points.

In the boys contest, Trinity had to use a 22-12 advantage in the fourth quarter to defeat the Chiefs 61-55.

Kris Thomson led Trinity with 33 points, while Bobby Craig added 15.

Tensas was led by Lee Hale with 16.

Christopher Doyle added 13 points for the Chiefs, while Daniel Mascagni addded 10.

Trinity host Pine Hills on Thursday and entertain Centreville Saturday..

Trinity’s boys and girls will host the District 6-A Tournament beginning next Monday.
