George and Deborah Harden listen Thursday as Larry Jones, former Franklin County superintendent, speaks about Mississippi’s new assessment program during the Natchez-Adams School District public forum at the old Natchez Convention Center. The forum focused on a school distrct plan to reopen Braden School, which district officials say would help ease overcrowding at two of its elementary schools. The Hardens were plaintiffs in a lawsuit which resulted in a court order that forced the district to operate only the schools now open. To open Braden, or any other school, the district has to get federal court approval.
