The Saints (24-5), the defending South State champions, looked like anything but champions in the second quarter as the Apaches outscored them 25-13 in the quarter to take a 37-29 halftime lead.

Marshall Harper, Glenbrook’s 6-7 center had 12 points in the first half, but was held to only one point in the second half.

It was the second half when Trinity turned things around thanks to its pressure defense, which helped the Saints offensively.

The Saints outscored the Apaches 16-7 in the third quarter and 17-8 in the fourth quarter to advance to the title game.

Kevin Jernigen led Glenbrook with 15 points and Chip Spurlock had 10 points.

The Saints will play Riverdale, a winner over Franklin Academy in the other semifinals game, Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

The Lady Saints came up short in their quest to reach the title game, losing to Riverdale 55-36.

Riverdale made eight three-pointers in the game.

Trinity’s Ashley Kingsafer twisted her ankle in the game and finished with seven points.

Sarah Kirby led the Lady Saints (22-8) with 10 points and Becky Bass had seven points.

Kris Jones led Riverdale with 14 points, Angie Hannah had 12 points and Meredith Burton had 10 points.
