Lady Dogs lose out to Rebelettes

Natchez’s High Lady Bulldogs saw their season come to an end on the Gulf Coast, falling to Harrison Central 84-45 in a first round South State 5A contest.

Harrison Central advances to the South State 5A Tournament.

The Lady Bulldogs end their season at 10-22.

The Rebelettes jumped ahead of Natchez 11-1 and led 32-11 at the end of the first quarter.

Harrison Central increased its lead to 46-18 at halftime.

The Rebelettes outscored Natchez 16-11 in the third quarter and 22-16 in the final quarter.

Brandy Honeycutt led the Rebelettes with 16 points, while Shaneka Bell added 15.

Kendall Conerly netted 12 points, Alicia Weathersby added 11 and Lakeisha McCord chipped in 10..

Natchez was led by Christen West with 14 points.

Angel Taylor and Crystal Brown added seven each.

n Jefferson Couty’s boys saw their season end at Pass Christian as the Tigers were defeated 91-77 in a Class 3A South State first round contest.

Pass Christian was led by Kelvin Woods with 21 points, while Carl Bowser added 16.

Jefferson County was led by Kenall January with 20 and Kelvin Thompson with 16.

The Lady Tigers face Forest High in a South State 3A girls contest Friday at 8 p.m. at Forest.
