Children don’t let clouds dampen day

Despite a cloudy sky and the constant threat of rain Saturday, three Natchez children still found ways to keep themselves entertained.
&uot;We’ve been riding on bikes and talking to each other on walkie talkies,&uot;&160;said 10-year-old John Swinny. &uot;It was sprinkling, and I was riding all over the neighborhood.&uot;
Swinny was at 212 Margaret Avenue because he had spent the night with his cousin, Lee Hash, 11.
&uot;They were up until three this morning and they they woke up a few minutes after eight ready to go again,&uot;&160;said Hash’s mother, Robin Stahlman.
A third child in the neighborhood Deacon Newman, 8, also came out to play Saturday.
Other activities for the day included playing video games, chasing dogs in the neighborhood and shooting at each other with toy water guns.
&uot;These are Christmas presents they really have not had a chance to play with a whole lot,&uot; Robin Stahlman said
Hash and Swinny kept up the fight for about half an hour, running back and forth and chasing each other in the front yard.
&uot;Hey that’s cheating you can’t go inside,&uot; Swinny said, as Hash made a short trip into the house at one point in the battle.
Robin Stahlman kept an eye on for the boys while caring for her baby, Beau Stahlman, who was sick with a stomach virus.
Even though he was sick, Stahlman said he was still a good baby.
&uot;Even whenever, he’s feeling bad, he’s happy,&uot; she said.
