Natchez falls to Warren Central

Warren Central’s Chris Newton hit a 2-run home run in the fifth inning to give the Vikings a 3-1 win over Natchez in Vicksburg Friday.
Natchez took a 1-0 lead in the third inning as Brock Barlow singled and scored on a single by Carl Hayes.
Hayes led the Bulldogs with two singles.
Carl Upton picked up the win for Warren Central, while Leon Stewart was tagged with the loss.
Natchez, 7-11, hosts Loyd Star today at 11 a.m. in junior varsity and varsity contests.
The Bulldogs play at Jim Hill Tuesday with a playoff spot on the line.
Trinity sweeps PCS
Trinity Episcopal’s varsity baseball team swept a MPSA District 6A doubleheader from Presbyterian Christian, winning 15-5 and 20-4 Friday at Presbyterian Christian.
William McGehee was the winning pitcher for Trinity in the first game. McGehee also went 3-for-3 at the plate with an home run and a double.
Elliot Meng went 3-for-4 with a home run and two singles. Hunter Dale went 3-for-4 with a double. Bobby Craig was 2-for-3 with a home run, his first high school home run.
Ryan Rachal went 2-for-3 with a double. Walt Ketchings went 2-for-4.
Gregory Ketchings was the winning pitcher in the second game and went 2-for-3 at the plate.
Trinity scored 15 runs in the fourth inning alone.
Dale went 2-for-3 with a home run. Walt Ketchings was 2-for-3. Brian Priest and Meng each went 2-for-2.
Trinity plays at Franklin Academy today at 1 p.m.
There were no results from the ACCS-Hillcrest game in Jackson or Huntington at Briarfield contests at press time.
Huntington hosts WCCA today in a junior varsity and varsity game beginning at noon.
