Brookhaven captures Trinity tourney

Craig Smith of Brookhaven fired a 79 to earn top honors and
lead his Cougar squad to the Trinity Golf Invitational championship
Monday at Beau Pre Country Club.
Brookhaven finished with a team score of 343.
Finishing second19 behind Brookhaven with a 362 score was Adams
County Christian School.
&uot;Beau Pre is a tough course and the win made it tough
on everybody,&uot; said AC head coach Bo Swilley. &uot;But I
thought our kids did a good job. We seem to be improving each
time out.
Clay Strickland led the Rebels with an 84, while Johnathan
Halley was four strokes back at 88.
Daniel Loyd came in iwth a 94, while Trey Isabell fired a 96.
Shane Wells and Brian Hunt shot a 104 and 113, respectively.
Huntington was third with a score of 375.
Donnie Barlow led the Hounds with an 87. Wil Miller fired a
92, while Cody Turnage and Noah Wilson came in at 97 and 99, respectively.
Alan Harris fired an 80 in extra player play, while Nathan
Addison added a 95 and Patrick Clayton a 101.
Wilkinson County Christian Academy was fourth at 385, led by
Kurt Vidrine with a 91. Jacob Townley and George Johnson shot
a 93 and 94, respectively.
Finishing fifth was the host team Trinity at 400.
Lee Jones shot an 87, while Charlie Daniels came in with a
91. Marcus Archer finished at 109, while Wyatt Craig and John
Davis each shot 113.
Pine Hills place sixth a 404, led by David Brown at 94.
Across town at Duncan Park, Cathedral captured a three-team
tournament, shooting a 166.
Richland edged out Natchez, firing a 195 to the Bulldogs’ 196.
Christopher Martin, Mark Carter and Josh Ford each shot a 196
for the Green Wave.
Tyler Crisp finished at 43, Wyler Murray shot a 49 and Scott
Dillon had a 59.
Brandon Miller led Natchez with a 44. Michael Pace fired a
50, while Betsi Powell and Justin McElroy each had 51s. Joe Bell
fired a 57.
