Lady Rebs pound Lady Chiefs

Adams County Christian’s varsity softball team pounded out 16 hits and got a solid pitching performance from Charmaine Reagan in a 15-0 win over Tensas Monday at ACCS.
The game was called in the third inning due to the 15-run rule.
Reagan pitched a three-hitter and walked one in three innings for the win.
&uot;The girls came out like they really wanted to play today,&uot; said ACCS softball coach Bruce Pickle. &uot;They hit the ball real well.&uot;
The Lady Rebels took control in the bottom of the first with seven runs.
Neely Ward tripled, Holli Hankins walked and Laurie Davis drove in both runs with a double. Davis then scored on a double by Riana Flynn.
Flynn scored on a Tensas error in which April Boyd was able to get the first base.
One out later, Alesia Brown hit a two-run, inside-the-park home run to give ACCS a 6-0 lead.
Shannon Givens walked and later scored on a Kelsie Ward single.
After Reagan retired the side in the top of the second, she and her teammates scored six more runs in the bottom of the inning.
Davis hit a lead-off double, Flynn walked and Boyd drove in both runs with a single.
Boyd later scored on a Brown single.
After Shannon Givens reached first on a fielder’s choice, Nikki Hankins tripled to bring in Brown and Hankins. Hankins scored on a sacrifice fly by Meghan Marchbanks for a 13-0 lead.
Tensas got two hits and a walk off Reagan in the top of the third.
The Lady Rebels, 4-1 scored the last two runs of the game.
Davis singled and scored on a Flynn triple. Flynn scored on a sacrifice fly by Boyd.
&uot;The attitude was real good,&uot; coach Pickle said. &uot;I hope it can continue when we play at Parklane tomorrow.&uot;
Neely Ward and Davis each went 3-for-3. Davis had 2 RBIs. Flynn went 2-for-2 and had 2 RBIs.
Brown was 2-for-2 with 3 RBIs. Kelsie Ward went 2-for-2 with an RBI.
In the junior varsity game, ACCS defeated Tensas 12-1 in six innings.
Kelsie Ward was the winning pitcher and Krystal Truitt hit a 2-run, inside-the-park home run in the third inning.
