Natchez clinches second place

The Natchez Bulldogs clinched second place in Division 6-5A with a 10-4 win over Jim Hill Tuesday in Jackson. Forest Hill, which went undefeated in district play, captured the division title and Natchez and Jim Hill were tied for second with three district losses each.
The Tigers had defeated Natchez here in their first meeting.
The Bulldogs will play at Gulfport High next Thursday in the first game of a best of three Class 5A first round playoff series.
Gulfport captured the Division 8-5A crown.
The second game of the series will be played here next Saturday.
Brian Kossum got the win for the Bulldogs, allowing no earned runs in the contest.
Nolan Coward collected a double and two singles to lead the Natchez offense.
The Bulldogs play at McComb Saturday in their final regular season game of the year.
Hounds blank Mustangs
Huntington High used a strong pitcher performance by Steve Hinton to defeat River Oakss 10-0 in five innings Tuesday in Ferriday, La.
Hinton was knocked unconscious in a game against Wilkinson County Christian School on Saturday after being hit by a pitch and was taken to the hospital before being released that night.
Hinton allowed only one hit, striking out five.
John Mark Bonnette and Barrett Kiser singled and doubled in the win for Huntington.
Luke Davis added two singles, while Wyatt Kemp singled twice.
Trey Mason had a single driving in four runs
Huntington plays at Tallulah Friday.
