Vidalia High’s softball game with Crowville that was stopped at 0-0 in the sixth inning last month will go undecided, but the Lady Vikings are the District 3-2A champions.
Vidalia defeated Crowville in Crowville and the regular season had to be completed by Thursday night.
The Lady Vikings were scheduled to complete their game with Crowville Wednesday but rain forced the game to Thursday.
The field was unsuitable for play Thursday so a poll was held among district principals to determine the district champ.
Since Vidalia was the lone undefeated team in district, the Lady Vikings were named champions. Crowville finishes second and Block third.
Vidalia hosts a wild card team in a first round playoff game. That contest is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday.
In other postponed action, Vidalia’s baseball game at McCall was rained out and will be played next week.
Vidalia plays host to Ferriday today at 5 p.m. and will play at Crowville Saturday at 1 p.m. in a makeup game.
Elsewhere, Huntington and Trinity will play their baseball game scheduled for Monday on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Huntington.
The junior high district track meet at River Oaks in Monroe, La., was rained out and moved to Monday in Monroe.
Since several members of those teams also run track for the junior high, Trinity and Huntington’s baseball game was pushed up a day.
Huntington plays at Tallulah today, while Trinity will host Presbyterian Christian in a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
