Trinity Episcopal High hopes to make a long day of it when the Saints host Franklin in the second, and third game, if necessary, of the District 6A championship series.

Franklin won the first game Monday 9-0 as pitcher Anthony Warner held Trinity to one hit, facing 22 batters.

The second game of the series will be held at 3 p.m. today at Trinity.

If the Saints win that game, a third and deciding contest will follow at Trinity. The winner of the series will face Mount Olive in a first round MPSA Class A playoff series, while the second place team will face Plain Dealing.

Plain Dealing defeated Trinity 2 games to 1 in a first round playoff series last year. Trinity fell one game behind Franklin Monday as the Saints committed four errors in the game and left one man on base — Hunter Dale, who had the only Saints hit.

Blase Sims and Tyler Harris both had two singles.
