Susie Hamilton
Feb. 17, 1917 – May 9, 2000
WASHINGTON – Services for Susie &uot;Minne&uot; Hamilton, 83, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at Riverland Medical Center, will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Baptist Church with the Rev. James Beverly officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Hamilton was born Feb. 17, 1917, in Adams County, the daughter of Ella and Marshall Fleming.
She was a housewife and a member of St. Paul Baptist Church and the choir.
Survivors include one son, Michael &uot;Hamp&uot; and his wife, Clementine Hamilton, both of Natchez; four grandchildren, Michael Hamilton Jr., Johnathan Hamilton, Susan Hamilton and Justin Hamilton, all of Natchez; one brother, Andrew Fleming of Alexandria, La.; three sisters-in-law, Hannah Fleming, Edna Fleming and Lillie B. Fleming, all of Natchez; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be James L. Jackson, Fredrick Fleming, Eddie Lee Fleming, Billy Fleming, Chad Hamilton, Dan Washington Jr., James West, Johnathan Johnson, Charles Jones, Walter Polk III, Larry Hutchins and Michelle Brooks.

Gradie Gaines
March 6, 1915 – May 7, 2000
WOODVILLE – Services for Gradie Gaines, 85, of Woodville, who died Sunday, May 7, 2000, at Field Memorial Community Hospital in Centreville, will be at noon Saturday at Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Allen Scott officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Newman Funeral Home.
He was a retired sawmill worker, a lifelong resident of Woodville and a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Gaines of Woodville; one daughter, Blanche Dunbar of Baton Rouge, La.; two sons, Ezell Gaines of Newark, N.J. and Richard Gaines of Kalamazoo, Mich.; two sisters, Isaporia Chambers of Baton Rouge, La. and Catherine Gaines of Orange, N.J.; one brother, Elro Gaines of Newark, N.J.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Lonnie B. Farr Jr.
Jan. 17, 1924 – May 9, 2000
ROXIE – Services for Lonnie B. &uot;L.B.&uot; Farr Jr., 76, of Roxie, who died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, will be at 11 a.m. today at Roxie Baptist Church with the Revs. Vann Windom and Cletus Moak officiating.
Burial will be in the Roxie Cemetery under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.
Mr. Farr was born Jan. 17, 1924, in Franklin County, the son of Lonnie B. Farr Sr. and Ida Aldridge Farr.
He was retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company with 38 years of service, a member of Roxie Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for 46 years and a member of the Masons.
Mr. Farr was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Kathryn Lindsey Farr.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Waldens Farr of Roxie; three sons and daughters-in-law, Danny Farr and Bonnie Farr of Natchez, Steven Farr and Carmen Farr of Roxie and Greg Farr and Kathy Farr of Roxie; one brother, Douglas C. Farr and wife, Emma Farr of Roxie; two sisters and husbands, Barbara and Albert Duck of Natchez and Martha and Howard Bonds of Fayette; two granddaughters, Megan and Emily Farr; two step-grandsons; one step-granddaughter; and four step-great-grandchildren.
The family request memorials be made to Roxie Baptist Church building fund.

Alvin Ray Conrad
April 13, 1941 – May 4, 2000
HOUSTON, Texas – Services for Alvin Ray Conrad, 59, of Houston, who died Thursday, May 4, 2000, in Houston, will be at 10 a.m. today at Christway Church with the Rev. W.R. Shorts officiating.
Burial will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery Saturday under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home. The procession will leave the funeral home at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Mr. Conrad was born April 13, 1941, the son of Janie Bernice and Bennie Lee Conrad Sr.
He was employed with Conrad Paint and Body Shop as a painter. He was a member of White Castle AME Church in Gloster and later joined New Mount Olive Church in Houston.
Survivors include his wife, Jessie; two sons, Alvin Jr. and Kenrick; stepmother, Minnie Lee conrad of Gloster; three sisters, Lena Shorts, Iris Conrad and Bernita Conrad Hunter of Houston; and four brothers, Wallace Conrad, Bennie Conrad, Lantre Conrad and Roy Conrad, all of Houston.
Pallbearers will be Lantre Conrad, Roy Conrad, Ricky Shorts, Timothy Hearne, Corey Shorts and Jimmy Fells.

April 14, 1966 – May 7, 2000
VIDALIA, La. – Services for Raoul C. Coleman, 34, of Baton Rouge, formerly of Vidalia, who died Sunday, May 7, 2000, in Baton Rouge, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Young’s Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Shep Bethley officiating.
Burial will be in the Vidalia Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Coleman was born April 14, 1966, in Natchez, the son of Eddie L. and Edna Williams Coleman.
He was employed with LSU Earl K. Long Hospital in Baton Rouge as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist and was a member of Young’s Chapel Baptist Church. He was a 1984 graduate of Vidalia High School, Southern University with a degree in Allied Health and LSU with a degree in Medical Technology.
Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his paternal grandparents, David Y. Coleman of Monroe and Daisy Cook of New Orleans; two brothers, Roderick and his wife, Cornelia Coleman and Eddie Coleman Jr., all of Houston, Texas; three nephews, Roderick Jr. and Cornelius Coleman of Houston and Terrion Montrell of Newellton; one niece, Janae Miller of Houston; six aunts, Dr. Georgia Fields, Victoria Rambo, Irma Williams and Carrie Williams, all of Vidalia, Willa Rhodes of Las Vegas and Freda and her husband, Sylvester Jr. Jenkins of Ferriday; four uncles and their wives, Frank and Georgia Williams, Wilson and Alma Williams, John Williams, all of Vidalia, and Elder Nathan Williams of Chicago; and a number of great aunts, great uncles, cousins and friends.

Services for Thelma &uot;Dooley&uot; Jenkins-Queen, 49, of Fayette, who died Friday, May 5, 2000, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Zion Church of God in Christ with the Rev. Percy Herrington officiating.
Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery in Fayette under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. today with a family hour from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Queen was born June 12, 1950, in Natchez, the daughter of Augustine and Joshua Jenkins.
She attended a high school in Harriston and was a member of Mount Zion Church of God in Christ.
Mrs. Queen was preceded in death by her father; and one brother, Richard Fountain.
Survivors include her mother, Augustine Jenkins and her husband, Richard Queen Sr. of Fayette; three sons, Tommy Jenkins of Boston, Kenny Jenkins of Providence, R.I. and Richard Queen Jr. of Natchez; two daughters, Brenda and Linda Jenkins of Boston; four brothers and wives, Ben Belton and Theresa, Willie Frank Jenkins of Fayette, Arthur Lee Jenkins and Leslie of Seattle, Wash. and Josh Jenkins Jr. and Donna of Providence, Rhode Island; three sisters, Shirley Jenkins of Fayette, Elouise Gibson and husband, Johnny of Houston and Carolyn Branch and Harold of Boston; three grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Florence Ida Morris Dixon
Sept. 5, 1899 – May 10, 2000
Services for Florence Ida Morris Dixon, 100, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be held at 10 a.m. today at Laird Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Wynn officiating.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of the funeral home.
Mrs. Dixon was born Sept. 5, 1899, in Woodville to Jonas Platte and Lizzie Courtney Morris.
She was the oldest living member of First Baptist Church of Natchez, where she was a member of the Rebekah Sunday School class and the Women’s Missionary Union.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Minor Jennings Dixon; her parents; and one niece, Mary Alice Morris Cross.
Survivors include one son, Jennings Dixon of Natchez; one daughter, Myra Jeannette Thompson of Pineville, La.; one grandson, James L. Thompson Jr. of Shreveport, La.; one granddaughter, Daphnie Eells of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; two great-granddaughters, Angie Lynn Perrin and Jennifer Perrin, both of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Larry Bowman, Lynwood Easterling, Chuck Gilbert, Ken Moss, Jack E. Simmons, Vic M. Simmons and Billy Pyron.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of First Baptist Church, Dr. David G. Hall, Connell C. Miller Jr., William F. Rogillo, Frank Gamberi Jr. and Robert Morris.
