David Lane Wilson
March 7, 1932 — May 15, 2000
FRANKLIN COUNTY — Services for David Lane Wilson, 68, of McCall Creek, who died Monday, March 15, 2000, at Franklin County Memorial Hospital in Meadville, were held at 11 a.m. May 17 at Sarepta Baptist Church.
Burial was in the Church Cemetery under the direction of Harrigill Funeral Home.
Mr. Wilson was born March 7, 1932, in Franklin County, the son of William A. Wilson and Bessie Huffman Wilson.
He was retired from International Paper Co. after 43 years of service as a Power House Operator and a member of Sarepta Baptist Church in Franklin County.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Cook Wilson of McCall Creek; four sons, Stanley Kevin Wilson of McComb, Steven Andrew Wilson of McCall Creek, Jimmy Wilson of Roxie and Tommy Wilson of Meadville; four daughters, Shawnda Denice Wilson and Rita Smith of McCall Creek, Karen Britt of Loyd Star and Debra Gladden of Hazlehurst; two sisters, Bertie Patt of McCall Creek and Audrey Mulkey of Meadville; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Walter Earl Shell
Feb. 7, 1953 — April 12, 2000
BUNKLEY — Services for Walter Earl Shell, 47, of Lisman, Ala., who died Wednesday, April 12, 2000, in Lisman, Ala., will be at noon today at Mount Siani Baptist Church.
Burial will be in the Bunkley Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Mr. Shell was born Feb. 7, 1953, in Franklin County, the son of Albert Shell and Estella Covington.
He had attended Lillie Mae Bryant High School. He was a farm worker.
Mr. Shell was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include one son, three daughters, seven brothers, five sisters, three step-children, three grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Fred C. Chesteen
Graveside services for Fred C. Chesteen, 79, of Natchez, formerly of Kilmichael, who died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Further arrangements will be announced at a later date.
Inez Chapman Ray
March 11, 1914 — May 17, 2000
FAYETTE — Services for Inez Chapman Ray, 86, of Vicksburg, formerly of Fayette, who died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at Vicksburg Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Spencer Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Cane Ridge Cemetery in Lorman under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ray was born March 11, 1914, in Union Church, the daughter of James Edward and Irma Youngblood Chapman.
She was a life long resident of Fayette and a member of Fayette Methodist Church.
Mrs. Ray was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Ray; grandson, Neal Embry and daughter-in-law, Barbara Ray.
Survivors include three daughters and husbands, Jennie Lee Embry and Jimmy of Lorman, Maxine Comer and Tom of Yankeetown, Fla., Tommie Jean Dillon and Cecil of Vicksburg; one son, James Davis Ray of Poplarville; three sisters, Virgie McCormick and Hazel McCormick of Union Church and Lillie Sanders of Fayette; two brothers, Percy Chapman and Carl Chapman of Union Church; ten grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Ray, Jeffery Ray, Lance Dillon, Lee Embry, Don McClure and Jamie Eakes.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Taylor and Harold Sanders.
Ruby Jones Beverly
Dec. 30, 1915 — May 17, 2000
WOODVILLE — Services for Ruby Jones Beverly, 84, of Woodville, who died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Woodville Baptist Church with the Revs. Gary Bunch, Marty Wilson, M.D. Connor and Gerald Martin officiating.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Woodville under the direction of Berryhill Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mrs. Beverly was born Dec. 30, 1915, in Waynesboro, the daughter of Eugene Ransom Jones and Mary Virginia Windom Jones.
She was a housewife and a member of Woodville Baptist Church.
Survivors include her mother, Mary Virginia Windom Jones; two sons, Wendell Bowen Beverly of Terry and Oscar Ted Beverly of Gulfport; two sisters, Sadie Shaw of Waynesboro and Gladys Giles of Waynesboro; one brother, Aubrey Jones of Watson, La.; and four grandchildren, Christopher Wendell Beverly, Richard Bowen Beverly, Ester McDuffie Jackson and Oscar Ted Beverly Jr.
