McElroy’s Contract Pumping Service 10-run-ruled Sonic the last two times the teams met.
That wouldn’t be the case Tuesday, as Sonic scored a 7-1 win over McElroy’s in Natchez Girls Softball 9-10 action.
&uot;We played ball,&uot; said McElroy’s coach David Davis, whose team improved to 5-4. &uot;Our pitching was excellent. Tracy (Davis, David’s daughter) did a good job pitching the ball inside. And our defense was out of this world. The girls made the plays.&uot;
Jessica Vines, Roclyn Champlin and Tracy Davis had three hits each for McElroy’s.
Christina Brumfield led Sonic with three hits.
&uot;When you don’t score runs, you are not hitting the ball,&uot; said Sonic coach Randy Burmfield. &uot;We’ve been averaging about 16 runs a game, but we just had one of those nights.&uot;
It’s one McElroy players won’t forget.
&uot;We’re ready to go now,&uot; Davis said.
