African cousins Artemus Gaye, left, and Youjay Innis explore cotton fields for the first time in their journey to uncover clues to their ancestors’ enslavement in Natchez. One of their ancestors, Prince Ibrahima, was captured in the 18th century and sold to slave traders on Aug. 18, 1788 — 112 years ago today.
