A log truck overturned Thursday morning at the intersection of Ivy Lane and Birdwood Drive in Natchez. At left, truck driver Howard Justin Hall of Monticello explains what happened to Natchez Fire Department Capt. Joe Tuccio. Hall said he mistakenly took a wrong turn onto Ivy Lane to deliver logs to Rives and Reynold Lumber Co. Hall said as he turned onto Birdwood Drive, the truck ran off the side of the road into a drainage ditch, and the truck tipped over, spilling logs into the drainage ditch and onto a Chevrolet Corsica parked along Birdwood Drive. No one was in the car at the time of the accident. Natchez Police Chief Willie Huff said Hall has been cited for violating the city truck route ordinance which can result to a fine of up to $500. No injuries were reported.
