Lady Bulldogs win first district match over Provine

The Natchez Lady Bulldogs won their first district game Tuesday, bombing Provine 16-1 in Jackson.
Natchez was virtually unstoppable at the plate. Kelly Fuller, Deanna Butts, Dalisa Lewis, Krystal Brown, Mayble Green and Miracle Calcote all went 3-3, and Leslie Patrick
was 3-4.
Butts, Brown and Chrystal Sylvester all hit home runs.
Lewis pitched the entire game, earning the win and allowing only one run.
&uot;I saw improvement,&uot; said Natchez head coach Sue Johnson. &uot;As long as I see improvement, I know we’re doing fine. It’s just going to take a little time.&uot;
Natchez improved to 3-3 on the season with the win, and is 1-0 in district play.
Next up for Natchez is another district foe, Jim Hill. The game will be played at 5 p.m. Aug. 31, in Natchez.
&uot;Jim Hill has improved tremendously over the last three years,&uot; Johnson said. &uot;It’s going to be a good game.
&uot;I hope we come out with a victory, but it will be a challenge,&uot; she added. &uot;A win will give us the confidence we need for the rest of the season.&uot;
