Maury Bedford, above, is the new acting manager of the St. Catherine Creek National Wildlife Refuge. He took the position in August following the departure of former refuge manager Jim Hall. Hunting season begins Sept. 30 at the refuge, and new regulations regarding the tagging of bucks have been enacted to gather information on area deer herds.
