&uot;It doesn’t get any easier for the Saints,&uot; Trinity Episcopal head football coach David King said, as his team goes on the road to take on East Rankin in Pelahatchie at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Trinity (3-4) is coming off a 29-28 loss to District 5-1A foe and second-ranked Amite School Center.

&uot;We’ve had some players injured and several players have been out sick this week,&uot; King said. &uot;To compound things, we’re coming off a tough loss. We picked the wrong time to have a bad week of practice.&uot;

Jon Borum sprained his knee late in last week’s game and will be out for at least two weeks.

This week, the Saints play an East Rankin team with a 5-2 record that is ranked in the top 10 in MPSA Class 2A.

&uot;East Rankin is awesome,&uot; King said.

King said East Rankin will do what their other opponents have done offensively against his defense – line up and run power football.

&uot;They are a lot bigger than us,&uot; he said. &uot;They have two big running backs that pound the ball. Their quarterback is tough and likes to run the option.&uot;

King said in order to slow down East Rankin’s running attack, the Saints defense will have more guys up front.

&uot;As small as we are, we’re going to do our best,&uot; King said.

East Rankin runs a four-man front on defense and will do a lot of blitzing, King said.

&uot;They’re real aggressive and big up front, and their inside linebackers are extremely good,&uot; he said.

King said he won’t make any changes on offense.

&uot;Except for the Tensas game, we’ve been solid offensively all year. We’ve racked up some good totals this year,&uot; he said.

&uot;We’ve already surpassed most people’s goals, so we have to go after our own goals, which are a winning season and a playoff berth,&uot; King added.
