It’s about to turn cold, ehh? Canadian cold front coming

Published 12:00 am Thursday, October 5, 2000

Miss-Lou residents should expect a dramatic change today in area weather as a strong Canadian cold front descends on the Southeast.

The National Weather Service recommends students be equipped with rain gear, and a light windbreaker may be needed by afternoon.

Rain throughout the day will be followed by much cooler temperatures and winds are expected at 15 to 25 miles per hour.

Thunderstorms are possible, but severe weather is not expected since the storms are most likely to occur after the cold front passes.

The cold weather will continue to settle into the Deep South over the weekend with a frost or freeze possible by Sunday or Monday.
