Cathedral loses in overtime

Despite holding St. Andrews to 141 total offensive yards, the Cathedral Green Wave lost a heartbreaker to the Saints 17-16 in overtime in a District 7-2A contest at Madison.
Cathedral scored first in overtime on a seven-yard run by Jonathan Jackson and went for two, but did not convert.
St. Andrews (4-3, 1-0) then scored on a 10-yard pass from Lee Hall to Edward Hanlon. Rashard Johnson made the extra point for the win. Cathedral had 216 yards on the ground, but also had four fumbles.
Ja’Mel Jackson led Cathedral in rushing with 148 yards on 26 carries.
Bart Lane completed five of 10 passes for 47 yards and had a nine-yard touchdown run.
Hall completed eight of 17 passes for 53 yards and added a 55-yard touchdown run.
Cathedral (0-6, 0-3) has an open date next Friday and hosts Wesson on Oct. 20 for homecoming at 7:30 p.m.
