Franklin Bulldogs make winning look easy in District win over Jefferson County

The Franklin County Bulldogs got all its offense on the ground – 442 yards – in a 42-0 win over Jefferson County in a Division 6-3A game Friday night at Meadville.
Tommy Smith led the way for Franklin County with 216 yards on just 10 carries with touchdown runs of 24 and 68 yards.
Shirmon McNair also scored two touchdowns, Cole Zumbro added a 26-yard field goal, Walter Anderson scored on a 47-yard run and Ramsey Brown scored on a 22-yard run.
&uot;It was a team effort,&uot; said Franklin County head coach Mike Goff. &uot;The offensive line played well, the running backs played hard and the defense stepped up big time.&uot;
Jefferson County also had all its offense on the ground – 119 yards. The Tigers hurt themselves with three turnovers.
Lee Morgan led Jefferson County with 69 yards on 14 carries.
Franklin County (2-4, 2-0) plays at Hazelhurst next Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Jefferson County hosts North Pike next Friday at 7:30 p.m.
