County woman charged with stabbing boyfriend

An Adams County resident was arrested for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend in the chest with a knife Saturday evening.
Gearetha Swearengen, 21, of 23 Purnell St. and 24 Government Fleet Road, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault for stabbing Sherman Clark.
Details of the incident were sketchy Sunday but Maj. John Manley, of the Adams County Sheriff’s Department said he thought the weapon used in the incident was a kitchen knife.
The incident took place on Lower Woodville Road but the exact address was not available Sunday.
Clark was listed in stable condition at Natchez Community Hospital Sunday.
Swearengen was being held at the Adams County Jail on a $25,000 bond Sunday.
