CENTREVILLE – Police are searching for two people who robbed the Centreville branch of AmSouth Bank early Monday.
The robbers, described only as a black male and female in their late teens or early 20s, entered the bank wearing masks and brandishing a semi-automatic pistol, police reports said.
The two were seen getting into a 1994 Buick Century that was reported stolen from the Baton Rouge area on Sunday. The car was later found burned in a wooded area of Wilkinson County.
Police believe the robbery to be the first one committed in the small town since the late 1970s.
