Percy King Jr.
Services for Percy King Jr., 65, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. Percy Turner officiating.
Burial will be in Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the church.
Mr. King was retired from Armstrong Tire and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Georgia King.
Survivors include his wife, Emma King; four sons, Percy King, James King, Alex King and Percy D’Tron King, all of Natchez; seven daughters, Bonita King, Barbara Evans, Ursula Weems, Frances Wright and Kelsea Wright, all of Natchez, and Erika King and Leretha Robinson of Minneapolis; three stepsons and their wives, Charlie Whirl, Johnny and Marie Whirl and John and Terri Whirl, all of Charleston, S.C.; three stepdaughters and their husbands, Gloria and Arthur Ross of Natchez, Luvell and Roy Tippette of Mesa, Ariz., and Ann Whirl of Charleston; one brother, Jerry Douglas; and one sister and her husband, Leotha and Simmie Winzer of Pontiac, Mich.
Pallbearers will be Roger Evans, Joe Bruce, Ronnie Robinson, Talimion Cooper, Myron McQuarters, Bennie Lee Henderson, Kenny McKnight and Carl McKnight.

FERRIDAY, La. – Services for Ben Baxter Sr., 74, of Vidalia, who died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at his residence, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Howington officiating.
Burial will be held at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of the funeral home.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Baxter was born Dec. 27, 1925, in Craighead County, Ark.
He was a commercial fisherman and was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Fronie Mae Baxter; four sons, George Baxter, Benny Baxter and Mitchell Baxter, all of Ferriday, and William Baxter of Natchez; two daughters, Sallie Ann Ferry of Natchez and Barbara Jean Kimball of Ferriday; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Charles Baxter of Ferriday.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Kimball, Brian Baxter, Charlie Ferry, Sam Ferry, Wyatt Sharp and James Ola Jr.

JONESVILLE, La. – Services for Janie S. Morris, 72, of Jonesville, who died Dec. 2, 2000, in Jonesville, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Utility Baptist Church with the Revs. James Foster and Jack Colclasure and Dr. Ralph Webber officiating.
Burial will be in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery in DeVille under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation began at 6 p.m. Sunday and will continue until service time today at the church.
Mrs. Morris was born Feb. 25, 1928 in Walters, to Joe and Avie Sanson.
She served for four years as mayor of Jonesville and served 12 years as an alderwoman. She was the owner of Park and Wash.
She was a former president of the Jonesville Junior Guild and the C.A.R.C. and a board member of the Louisiana Soybean Festival.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomson Leroy Morris, her parents, three brothers and one sister.
Survivors include one son and his wife, David and Joy Morris of Jonesville; one daughter and her husband, Mary Jane and Jay Barrett of Glenmora; two grandchildren, James Morris of Shreveport and Catherine Abigail Morris of Greely, Colo.; two brothers, Ellis Sanson and Merl Sanson, both of Jonesville; and two sisters, Grace Aplin of Harrisonburg and JoAnn Russell of Jonesville.
Pallbearers will be her nephews.
